We are excited to announce that on April 8th, Fluid Imaging Technologies was acquired by Yokogawa Electric Corporation of Tokyo, Japan.
As FIT joins the Yokogawa Group, Yokogawa will be able to expand its portfolio of cell observation and particle analysis solutions offered by its life innovation business, and thereby strengthen its business targeting the bioeconomy market.
Their core business is industrial automation and measurement technology. Having been in existence for 115 years, Yokogawa has over 18,000 employees with revenues of $3.8 Billion USD. They own over 116 small companies – like Fluid Imaging – that are operated independently. We expect to continue to operate as an independent entity.
Being a technology company, Yokogawa is interested in Fluid imaging – and the FlowCam – for our imaging technology, our software, and the varied markets where the FlowCam is sold. They have expertise in artificial intelligence, process control, and imaging. To purchase a company like ours during this pandemic is a testament to the value they see in the FlowCam, the markets we serve, and our technology.
We are excited about the value Yokogawa will bring to the FlowCam. We have initiatives to improve upon the capabilities of VisualSpreadsheet software, and to add continuous processing to the FlowCam. We are confident that Yokogawa will provide the resources and expertise to bring these initiatives to fruition in the very near future.
We plan to maintain our offices in Scarborough Maine, and will continue to support you with the same world class technical customer support and after-market sales that you have come to know and appreciate. Please reach out if you have any questions.
