The 22nd annual PepTalk conference was hosted by Cambridge Healthtech Institute in San Diego, California from January 16th through 20th. The conference focused on the development and production of protein-based therapies as well as many other emerging therapeutic modalities like cell and gene therapies. The event brought together researchers across pharmaceutical companies, academia, and regulatory bodies like USP to present both the therapies they are developing and innovative approaches and technologies to make these therapies faster to develop and more effective in the clinic.
Dr. Sigrid Kuebler and FlowCam Sales Director, Steve Bowen, traveled to San Diego for the conference on behalf of the FlowCam team. In addition to presenting our technology, they got to speak with FlowCam users and researchers working with biotherapeutics.
The team also attended presentations by scientists using FlowCam in their research. Bruce Kerwin of Coriolis Pharma presented on their use of FlowCam and artificial intelligence to characterize particles in protein formulations and cell therapies. Richard Cavicchi of NIST presented recent improvements to particle characterization techniques including several of our recent technologies: FlowCam LO, FlowCam Nano, and VisualAI™.
