FlowCam – your trusted partner in Flow Imaging Microscopy for 25 years
At Yokogawa Fluid Imaging Technologies our mission is to bring clarity and focus to the study of subvisible particles in the life sciences. With our FlowCam technology, we are committed to developing innovative hardware and software to monitor Earth’s water bodies and drinking water supply for hazardous algae, to help make vaccines and injectable medicines safer, and to improve product quality in a variety of applications.
FlowCam was originally developed in the mid-1990s at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences for studying plankton in ocean water. Commercialized by Fluid Imaging Technologies, FlowCam is designed to combine the benefits of digital imaging, flow cytometry, and microscopy into a single instrument.
In April of 2020, Fluid Imaging Technologies was acquired by Yokogawa Electric Corporation, a leading provider of Industrial Automation and Test and Measurement solutions. The addition of FlowCam to the Life Innovation Business unit of Yokogawa supports the strategic expansion into the growing life sciences market.
FlowCam instruments have been deployed in over 50 countries, supporting research, development, and environmental monitoring in the life sciences, materials research, and industrial applications.
Yokogawa Fluid Imaging Technologies has been voted one of the "Best Places to Work in Maine" for seven years.
